"It Takes a Community to Raise a Child"

A few years back, I spent time with Brian Klemmer and an amazing group of people that taught 'Personal Mastery' skills. As a strong believer in continually learning and improving oneself, myself and my family spent several weekends role playing and learning what it means to be a part of a 'community ' greater than myself and my own family. Having grown up in a small town where everyone knew each other, worked together and participated in so many community events & activities that you just don't see these days, I really took all these teachings to heart because they MADE PERFECT SENSE to me! We learned that every situation can be turned into a 'Win-Win-Win' (aka Red/Black game) instead of the typical 'win-lose' result that most people base their lives on. No matter what your background, race or religion is, there are certain principles and concepts that always should be practiced to make this world and the people in it better.

I now continually scan my life and the world around me to apply these concepts to better the world around me.

These concepts provide me with different ideas in business also. I believe that my business would not exist without my community and the people in it therefore I insist that my business be a benefit to the not only myself and my family but also to the people, families and other businesses in my community. I've tried to associate myself more with people that also think this way and less with those that don't. I continually mentor those that can benefit from my experiences and I listen to learn from those in my community with more experience than I. (Thinking of you Diane, as I stop to dry my eyes)

Long story, short version: A percentage of everything we sell goes back into the local community in one form or another. Whether it's a charity event, a family that needs a helping hand, an under-employed person that needs to learn new skills or a child or sports team that needs support to be able to play. You will notice as you checkout on our site that you are able to pick a cause that is local and near & dear to your own heart. This contribution comes from the store and it's benefactors, never from your pocket. The local community says:
